Ways to take care piano at home

What kind of care is required?
To protect your piano from dust or dirt, keep clean the surface of the finish always.

Finishes
1. Lightly brush off surface dust using a piano feather duster or soft cloth.
2. Before using piano wax or polish, consult with the store where you purchased the piano, or a specialty piano store.

Keyboard
1. Wipe gently using a soft cloth (use separate clothes to wipe down keyboard and piano finishes).
2. When dirt is noticeable, dampen a cloth in a dilute solution of a neutral detergent, wring out well, and use this cloth to wipe away the dirt.
3. Never use any kind of alcohol such as rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol because it can cause cracking.
4. Refrain from playing with dirty hands.

Tuning once a year

Pianos need regular tuning at least once a year to keep them up to pitch and playing the correct notes. In particular, piano strings stretch a great deal during the first year after purchase, and the piano should be tuned twice during this one-year period. In addition, tuning is a way to check the piano's condition, which is important.
